Erika Cyphert was awarded a Student Award for Outstanding Research in the PhD Candidate category by the Society for Biomaterials. Congrats Erika! She will present her research at the World Biomaterials Congress in Glasgow, UK.
Alan Dogan won the 1st place poster award in the Engineering category at Intersections, an undergraduate research symposium held by SOURCE.
Congrats Alan!! Midwestern Biomaterials Day was hosted at CWRU this year. Dr. von Recum gave introductory remarks, several lab members participated in the poster session, and Dr. Rohner gave a platform presentation (and won a prize for 3rd place in oral presentations - congrats Nate!).
Other lab members were involved in organizing the event and judging/moderating sessions. Thanks to them and the rest of CRWU SFB for their efforts! The lab attended the 2019 BMES conference in Philadelphia, PA. We had a great time talking science, seeing the sights, and catching up with old friends.
Nathan Rohner, PhD, was awarded an Outstanding Poster Award at the 2019 Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC) Annual Scientific Retreat.
Nathan Mu, a summer high school student, won a best poster award at the Scientific Enrichment & Opportunity (SEO) poster session. Congrats to Kathleen on passing her R21 proposal defense!

Nathan Rohner, a postdoc in the lab, tied for 2nd Best Poster Award at the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC) Gastrointestinal Cancers Specialized Program of Research Excellence (GI SPORE) 2019 Annual Retreat. Great job!
